The Whisperer

by | 8 Feb 2017

In college, I had a teacher, Douglas TheWhisperer (not giving the real last name intentionally), who would start talking in a normal voice or may be little louder and then his voice would gradually go down to whisper and around the end I wouldn’t hear anything he was saying. I am pretty sure other people had the same problem. Out of respect and fear (he had the power to give me any grade) I never told him about it.

Many days he would come to classes and say “I will let you go early today”. However, he would actually end the class at the right time or even late. After 2/3 classes I stopped paying any attention to his “letting early” speech. However, he was (hope still is) a good person and it was easy to get an A in his class.

Eid Mubarak

Eid-ul-Ajha is a two-and-a-half-day celebration. Today is the first day and this morning, we went to pray at our local Northeast Philadelphia Islamic Center. We attended the first jamat at 8:00am. The main Eid prayer took place in the front yard of the mosque, but we...

America’s birthday 2022

Last two years we watched fireworks from home, so we went to see the fireworks yesterday at the park about 2.5 miles away from our house. I drove around the park but didn't get any parking, so I double parked on a street next to the park and took a quick video (linked...

Silly Talk

When he was learning to speak instead of saying I went there my eldest son, Mahir, used to say I goed there. Inspired by his innocent mistake I created two more words tolded and sawed. For example, I tolded you to go to bed but I sawed you playing instead later. Then...

My Ordinary Life

In my personal life there is everything present for me to be happy. I am happy somewhat but I don’t feel satisfied. My existence doesn’t mean much outside of my family. If I die today I will be forgotten very fast. This world will not miss anything because of my...

My worst experience with doctors

It was December 2015, my second son was playing with colored cotton balls and I thought I saw him putting one small cotton ball in one of his nostrils (he was 1 year+ at that time). We saw something red in his nose but we weren’t 100% sure because the inside of a nose...

Visiting Parks

During this summer I started to take my kids to different parks, so they can spend some time outside of the house and get some physical movements rather than playing video games the whole day. I take pictures every time we go outside. Also, I make videos of less than...
