Recently, I had an opportunity to work with a vision impaired employee of our agency. I was amazed by his ability to work almost at the same speed and accuracy of a sighted person. Of course he uses a special software in his computer but he mastered the skills of quickly moving among different programs in his computer and I am pretty sure he memorized the whole keyboard.
At the same time I was sad because I know a lot of blind people in Bangladesh beg on the streets for survival. They will never know that this type of technology exists. Most of the people who are born blind never go to school because of lack of special schools in their vicinity. They end up becoming a burden to their families or on the streets. It is a curse to be born in a poor country especially if you have some kind of impairment.
